Manazuru / Hayakawa Shore Diving

Manazuru

Located on the east coast of Izu, is Manazuru. Here you can find an easily accessible shore entry dive site. Not only is this site accessible, but the way it is positioned also allows the area to be protected from most unfavorable wind conditions.  One of the main attractions of this site is the artificial reef constructed by Kanagawa University. This reef is home to a colony of coral anemones about 40 meters in length and width and at a depth of 1 to 10 meters. Around the colony, you can see the friendly neighborhood frogfish, morays, anemone fish, and much more.

Once we finish up the dives we have a choice of a lovely seafood restaurant next door or a pizza restaurant down the street.

At Hayakawa, you can join us on our search for a wide variety of marine life. With creatures ranging from nudibranchs to stingrays, there is bound to be something of intrigue for every diver. For those looking to spend more time underwater this site is sidemount friendly with access to aluminum tanks.

In terms of reaching Hayakawa, it is an easy-to-reach dive site. Coming from Tokyo is about an hour by train. By train, you will arrive at Hayakawa Station (早川駅) and have a 10-minute walk or 2-minute taxi ride to the shop. If you are coming by car the shop is accessible from Hakone and Atami just be wary of traffic jams, especially during the summer holidays.
